Based In Santa Monica, California, SUSAN DENEAU INTERIOR DESIGN specializes in creating eclectic and refreshingly modern interiors that combine comfort with style, vintage and antique items with contemporary and new furnishings and high-end pieces with inexpensive finds. Possessing the innate ability to both envision the overall “big picture” concept of an interior space, as well as giving equal attention to the smallest decorative details, Ms. Deneau offers clients a broad scope of services and expertise.

Inventive pairings of materials, furnishings and color combinations are the hallmark of her interiors, which consistently reflect an artistic and lively mix that is tailored to each individual client’s lifestyle, taste and personality.  “Every design scheme should reflect the spirit of the homeowner(s) and even more importantly, function specifically for the way they live and use their space.  If it’s a beautiful room, but doesn’t work with the client’s lifestyle, then it’s not good design.” After 15 years as a successful publicist in the music industry, Ms. Deneau made the decision to turn a life-long passion and hobby into a full-time career, by enrolling in the Interior Design and Architecture program at UCLA in the Fall of 2000.

Prior to starting her own firm in 2004, Susan Deneau began working in the field of interior design at the acclaimed Los Angeles firm, M. Design Interiors, Inc. while concurrently attending school. Her work at M. Design Interiors was then followed by a one-year tenure as a Designer at the Beverly Hills-based firm, D. Crosby Ross, Inc., known for their upscale residential projects and entertainment industry clientele.

As the Owner & Principal of SDID, Susan is praised by clients for being, “the master of thinking outside the box”, and known for her innovative problem solving skills, imagination and originality.  Ms. Deneau strives to create the finest and most stylish solution for each project’s unique demands.  “My main objective with each client is, to not only achieve the aesthetic that reflects who they are, but to make the entire process fun,” she explains.  “This should never be a stressful experience – I want my clients to feel that I listen to them, involve them and that together, we have a great time creating their ideal rooms or home.”
